The Mines are a combat and mining-oriented location in Stardew Valley. They are located in the northward-east of the map, past Linus' Tent.

Introduction
On the fifth day at the Farm, the player receives a letter regarding the Joja Corporation who has been mining a landslide blocking the way to the mine entrance. Upon inbound, a scene introduces Marlon, who is standing at the ladder to the lower mine levels, and who provides a broken sword.
The mine has 120 levels in total, throughout which the player can notice abundant resources such as Rock, Ore, Geodes and many other items. Crates and barrels tin also be found and cleaved to obtain additional items.
The Dwarf
Inside the entrance of the mine, the player can see an obstructed path to the cave where the Dwarf resides. To get in the role player must use a Steel Pickaxe or a combustible item, though these items may need to be obtained later. Meeting the Dwarf triggers him to talk in an unknown language and the role player must obtain all of the Dwarven Scrolls (sometimes found within the mine) to decipher the language. Exploring the Mines
The beginning few levels of the mine are typically full of rocks and are absent of monsters. To go deeper, players must discover a ladder or craft a Staircase.
